Dar, Britain’s Foreign Secy discuss ways to further enhance ties

ISLAMABAD: Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar received telephone call from Britain’s Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs Lord David Cameron and expressed resolve to enhance bilateral relations in diverse areas. “Today, I received telephone call from Lord David Cameron”, Ishaq Dar wrote on X.
During conversation, they discussed bilateral relations and regional issues. They resolved to continue working closely to further enhance strong bilateral cooperation in trade, investment, education, climate change and people-to-people contacts.
He also stressed importance of early resumption of PIA flights between Pakistan and UK, which would further bolster linkages, particularly in view of large Pakistani diaspora in UK.
Two ministers also discussed significant regional issues, including Afghanistan and situation in Gaza.
Meanwhile, according to press release issued by Foreign Office spokesperson, Foreign Minister, reiterating importance of Pakistan-UK relationship said that Pakistan and UK had longstanding, historic relations with multifaceted cooperation. He invited Lord Cameron to visit Pakistan on mutually convenient dates.
