LAHORE: Former Prime Minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan said that he does not care who will be appointed as Chief of Army Staff (COAS) but Army Chief should be chosen on merit.

During a meeting with senior journalists at Punjab Chief Minister’s House, PTI Chief while taking a dig at Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said that how can a criminal decide on such a major appointment, adding that he does not care who will be appointed as next Chief of Army Staff but Army Chief should be chosen on merit.

Regarding cypher missing issue, Imran said that cypher was not stolen from anywhere, adding that original copy of cypher is still in Foreign Office. “NRO was given to opponents once again, I will not tell anyone date when long march will take place because our conversations are being recorded. I did not tell Shah Mehmood either,” Imran Khan added.

Rebuking Chief Election Commissioner Imran Khan said that he had never seen a biased CEC, adding that he wanted to disqualify him. “I did not do anything illegal and I want to challenge ECP to hear Nawaz and Zardari’s cases simultaneously, then everything will become crystal clear,” he added.

“Everything can be done through negotiations. In end, things are settled only through negotiations,” he said. While lashing out at Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah, Imran said how will Rana Sahaullah stop their long march adding that they have governments all around Islamabad and Rana is just threatening them.
