Customs foils smuggling bid worth Rs110ma

KARACHI: Customs officials claimed to have foiled smuggling bid worth Rs 110 million ont Quetta-Karachi Highway. As per details, Customs officials conducted raid near check post on Quetta Karachi Highway and recovered heroin worth Rs 110 million from a car.
Raid was conducted on intelligence based information, driver of car fled from incident spot. Meanwhile, police registered an FIR against unknown drug smugglers.
Earlier, customs officials foiled bid to smuggle Saudi currency at Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport. As per Customs Collector Karachi Airport, Nadeem Memon, passenger named Gul Hassan was travelling to Saudi Arabia with 100,000 Saudi Riyals. Currency was concealed in bag he was carrying.
