CTD busts gang smuggling weapons via social media

KARACHI: Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) arrested four of a gang allegedly smuggling weapons via social media. According to CTD gang was smuggling weapons via WhatsApp and Facebook.

CTD in-charge Raja Umer Khattab said that gang used to smuggle latest and sophisticated pistols and other weapons from Darra Adam Khel (KP) to Karachi without any check. Total 18 pistols have been confiscated from gang.

Gang used to buy modern weapons from Peshawar and later smuggles to Karachi. Licenses of these weapons are fake. Some of pistols were smuggled with real licenses as well. Arrested were being interrogated, it is said.
