ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz President Shehbaz Sharif slammed ‘some people’ for consistently criticising Finance Minister Ishaq Dar and asked them to leave PML-N. Addressing PML-N general council’s session here after intra-party elections Shehbaz Sharif said, “People criticising Ishaq Dar have no right to be in party.”

Sharif claimed that government provided relief to poor people in budget despite facing severe financial crisis. “I am promising that we will come out of difficult situation soon and Pakistan will be put on development path again.” He praised Maryam Nawaz, saying that she is working day and night after assuming charge of PML-N’s Chief Organiser.  Ishaq Dar is working day and night for improving economic situation. We are trying our best to sign an agreement with International Monetary Fundat earliest and fulfil its conditions.” He said Nawaz Sharif will return to country and serve nation after being elected as Prime Minister again. He said that country will see development again after Nawaz Sharif’s return.  On other hand Shehbaz Sharif met with Pakistan Peoples’ Party members, where they engaged in comprehensive discussion regarding current political situation in country.

Moreover, Shehbaz Sharif has been elected as party's President, while Maryam Nawaz has been    chosen as senior Vice President. Decision came during meeting of PML-N general council held here, which also saw election of several other officials to various positions.

PPP delegation included Minister for Commerce Syed Naveed Qamar, Minister for Climate Change Sherry Rehman, Minister for Water Resources Syed Khurshid Shah, Advisor to PM on Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan Affairs Qamar uz Zaman Kaira, Chief Minister Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah and Senator Nisar Khuro. Minister for Finance Ishaq Dar and Minister for Planning Ahsan Iqbal were also present at meeting.

During session, PPP leadership expressed their appreciation for PM’s efforts in implementing measures for welfare of public in budget, despite challenging economic conditions.

Meanwhile, Shehbaz Sharif and head of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Maulana Fazlur Reham met here and discussed overall political situation in country. Maulana Fazlur Reham lauded PM Sharif for allocating funds for development projects in budget 2023-24 despite financial constraints. JUI leader also appreciated steps taken for uplift of merged districts of tribal areas.
