LAHORE: An Anti-Corruption Court reserved verdict in PTI President Chaudhry Parvez Elahi's bail plea in illegal recruitment case. Judge Ali Raza heard plea and reserved verdict. Court would pronounce verdict on Tuesday.

Earlier, court had adjourned hearing on plea when prosecution said it had challenged decision to send Elahi to jail on judicial remand before sessions' court. When hearing resumed, judge asked parties whether matter had been resolved.

Elahi's lawyer Rana Intezar informed judge that he had argued his case before session's judge. Judge Raza asked investigating officer about record of case and he replied that it had been submitted in another case. On it, judge showed his displeasure and said that he would order registration of case against investigating officer.

He asked prosecution to submit written reply about record. On it, prosecution requested court for adjournment and judge granted his request.

Judge, earlier asked Rana Intezar to contest prosecution's plea, to which his lawyer said he was not provided any record. On it judge summoned parties again.

Judicial Magistrate Ghulam Murtaza Virk on June 4 rejected Punjab Anti-Corruption Establishment application seeking 14-day physical remand of former Chief Minister.
According to an ACE spokesperson, Elahi made 12 illegal recruitments in Punjab Assembly on grade 17 positions.
