Court rejects plea for de-sealing Rashid’s Lal Haveli

Rawalpindi: Lahore High Court (LHC) Rawalpindi bench has rejected plea for desealing Lal Haveli immediately. Haveli was sealed by Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB). Case came up for hearing before LHC Rawalpindi bench led by Justice Jawad Hassan. Court while summoning Deputy Administrator ETPB along with record adjourned hearing of case till October 2.

During hearing of petition Deputy Administrator and legal advisor of ETPB appeared in court while Sardar Abdul Razzaq Khan and his junior lawyer Sardar Shahbaz Khan represented petitioner Sheikh Siddique.  Counsel for ETPB told court several chances were given to Sheikh Rasheed, his brother Sheikh Siddique to file documents but they and their counsel kept on seeking adjournment repeatedly instead of presenting record.

Counsel for petitioner took plea Sheikh Rasheed and Sheikh Siddique filed appeal plea in ETPB under orders of court but decision was taken to seal Lal Haveli without hearing us. Counsel for petitioner while declaring operation against Lal Haveli one sided decision prayed court to de-seal Lal Haveli.

Court summoned Deputy Administrator of ETPB along with record on October 2 after hearing stance of lawyers of respondents.
