In Karachi, an Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) has issued a lifetime arrest warrant for Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Arsalan Taj Hussain, designating him as a 'fugitive' in a treason case in which he and other party leaders are implicated.
This action was taken after law enforcement failed to apprehend former Sindh Assembly member Arsalan Taj, leading to further legal measures.
Consequently, the ATC has officially declared PTI leader Arslan Taj as an absconder and has issued a lifetime arrest warrant for his detention. During the proceedings, the investigating officer (IO) submitted a report to the court regarding the designation of Arsalan Taj as an absconder, marking the completion of this legal process.
Simultaneously, the court has summoned witnesses for the upcoming hearing, signifying progress in the legal proceedings. The court adjourned the hearing until November 14.
The PTI leaders were implicated in a case related to governmental interference and incitement against the country's institutions. The government's complaint resulted in the registration of a case against Arsalan Taj at Landhi police station. Arsalan Taj was previously arrested by plainclothes police on March 12 from his residence.
It is important to note that Sindh Police carried out an overnight raid, apprehending Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf's Karachi chapter secretary-general, Arslan Taj, at his home.
