Court cancels arrest warrants of Khaqan Abbasi

ISLAMABAD: Accountability Court (AC) Islamabad has cancelled non-bailable arrest warrants of Shahid Khaqan Abbasi in LNG reference. Judge Nasir Javed of AC had issued warrants for not appearing in court and not filing exemption plea by Shahid Khaqan Abbasi.

Court had issued non-bailable arrest warrants of co-accused Uzma Adil. Later Zafar Ullah counsel for Shahid Khaqan Abbasi filed petition seeking annulment of arrest warrants.

Nasir Javed judge AC Islamabad accepted plea. Court revoked arrest warrants of Shahid Khaqan Abbasi and Uzma Adil.

Further hearing of case was then adjourned till March 14. It may be mentioned here that Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, Uzma Adil, former Finance Minister Miftah Ismail and others were named as accused in references. They were accused of awarding LNG terminal contract for period of 15 years to company of their liking in violation of rules.
