Court approves Awan’s interim bail in NCA case

ISLAMABAD: Prominent lawyer and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader Babar Awan approached an accountability court seeking protective bail in National Crime Agency (NCA) £ 190 million scandal.
Accountability court judge Muhammad Bashir heard case and approved interim bail of Awan in NCA case till September 5. Accountability court stopped NAB from arresting PTI leader till September 5 and issued notice to anti-graft watchdog.
National Accountability Bureau had launched an investigation against Imran Khan, Bushra Bibi and others for alleged gain of hundreds of canals of land in name of Al Qadir University Trust, which reportedly caused loss of 190 million pounds to national exchequer.
As per charges, former Prime Minister and others accused allegedly adjusted Rs 50 billion-190 million pounds at time sent by Britain’s National Crime Agency to government. PTI Chief registered Trust for Al-Qadir University Project on December 26, 2019.
