Contempt plea against KP Gov filed in SC

ISLAMABAD: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly Speaker Mushtaq Ghani filed contempt of court petition against KP Governor Haji Ghulam Ali in Supreme Court. It way prayed in petition that despite apex court’s orders Governor has failed to give date for holding general elections in province. Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has also been made respondent in case.
Earlier, Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf has decided to file contempt petition against Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor in Supreme Court for not obeying court orders regarding holding elections in province.
PTI lawyers have prepared detailed application to be submitted in apex court. Former Speaker of National Assembly Asad Qaiser, former provincial Education Minister Taimoor Jhagra and Shaukat Yousafzai will go to court to submit plea along with PTI legal team.
In its next move against KP Governor, PTI will prepare case to take legal action against Governor under Article 6 of Constitution.
