Connectivity projects to usher in region’s prosperity: PM

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said connectivity projects in region will not only bring trade communities closer, but also usher in new era of peace and prosperity.

Expressing views on receiving high-level delegation from Uzbekistan led by Deputy Prime Minister also Minister for Investment and Foreign Trade Khodjaev Jamshid Abdukhakimovich Prime Minister reaffirmed Pakistan’s resolve to further enhance existing excellent relationship between two brotherly countries. He said Pakistan offers connectivity to Central Asia through road and railways.

He appreciated that fruitful discussion between business community to establish B2B contacts would enhance bilateral trade and investment. Delegation apprised Prime Minister about their meetings with economic ministry of Pakistan during which it was agreed to enhance economic and trade ties between two countries.  Visiting dignitary briefed him about discussions between business groups of Pakistan and Uzbekistan in various fields.  Uzbek delegation thanked Prime Minister and reiterated that bilateral relationship is further deepening and pace of interactions is moving towards positive trajectory.

PM reiterated that friendship between Pakistan and Uzbekistan is strengthening with passage of time and this visit is manifestation of growing relationship.

Recalling his recent meetings with Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev on the sidelines of SCO Summit held in Samarkand in September and the 6th CICA Summit held in Astana, Kazakhstan in October 2022.
