The process of investment in Pakistan should be made easier for domestic and foreign investors, in the same way, special concessions and facilities should also be given for investment from China in Pakistan, including special economic zones, maximum facilities at ports and including banks, and special packages for import and export to attract more and more investments.
Why is the candidate of the party from which the certificate is being brought not considered? Chief Justice of Pakistan's dialogue with the lawyer from the Election Commission. Recently, it was reported that the Federal Ministry is introducing unique features like Ease of Doing Business and "One Stop Shop" in the Board of Investment while Pakistan Business to encourage investors.
The portal is also being worked on rapidly. It was further reported that unnecessary obstacles in the way of investment in Pakistan are being removed and online facilities are being ensured, which will reduce the difficulties of the investors and enable them to get more in the shortest time. There will be an opportunity to complete more work. Pakistan wants to promote bilateral trade activities from China and to attract Chinese investment, the concerns of Chinese investors must be redressed so that they feel more secure in Pakistan and the process of doing business should also be made easy. It is very unfortunte that some news regarding the factors which may affect the Chinese investment in Pakistan arwe surfacing. If true, immediate steps should be taken to remove concerns of Chinese Govt. Recently, the Chinese business community and representatives of major companies have shown great interest in investing in Pakistan. Meanwhile, the business community of both the countries have got an opportunity to have a very detailed discussion regarding investment in Pakistan and to understand each other's point of view.
In this regard, full cooperation and preparation was also seen from the Ministry of Commerce, Pakistan Board of Investment, Pakistan Trade Development Authority and other relevant departments. This shows that the Pakistan is serious about reviving economic ties with China and moving forward with the second phase of CPEC. In the Prime Minister's visit to China, analysts also had the opportunity to be a part of the Pakistani delegation, which included heads of more than a hundred different businesses and companies. On the first day of this visit, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif attended the event attended by heads and senior officials of more than five hundred Chinese companies. One of the reasons for this can be attributed to the deep and strong mutual relations between the two countries. However, it is also a fact that the cost of doing business in China has increased significantly over the past few years, largely due to the increase in labor wages there. In this case, investment in Pakistan market and relocation of industries to Pakistan is a good option for Chinese investors. In this regard, investment in Pakistan can become the first priority of Chinese companies because Chinese investors are already investing in Vietnam, Cambodia, Africa and other countries. However, the security problems faced by Chinese citizens in Pakistan are proving to be a major obstacle in the way of this investment.
In addition, Chinese investors are also facing problems related to currency depreciation and repatriation of investment profits abroad. Similarly, in order to eliminate the difficulties faced by Chinese medium and small enterprises in obtaining NOCs from various departments regarding investment in Pakistan and in obtaining utility services, a one window in the economic zones formed under CPEC. The system could not be activated. Although one-window services are being provided by the Special Investment Facilitation Council to large-scale investment enterprises, the medium and small enterprises are deprived of this facility. For this, it is necessary that the relevant institutions at the federal and provincial levels take immediate steps in this regard so that the unnecessary obstacles in the way of Chinese investment can be eliminated. In this regard, it can also be done that Economic Development and Management Companies should be made Economic Zone Authority so that they can eliminate unnecessary delay by issuing utility services and required NOCs to the investing companies themselves. Special tax exemptions and duty-free import of machinery should be provided to Chinese investors in the economic zones, as well as facilities for export and re-export of raw materials. In order to further strengthen relations with Chinese investors and address their concerns, it is necessary that at least every three months delegations comprising representatives of various business sectors visit relevant provinces and business sectors in China.
For this, the relevant government departments can also set up a separate one-page comparison for each sector on why investing in Pakistan is more beneficial for Chinese investors than investing in other countries. It can highlight labor costs, exemptions from taxes and other important points that support investment. For this, separate packages can be prepared for each business sector and industry by researching the already existing industry centers in different provinces and cities of China to see what benefits they will get from investing in Pakistan. In order to reduce the production cost of the industries, the government has recently taken a good decision to discount the price of electricity by ten and a half rupees per unit. However, in this regard, the government also needs to compare how competitive Pakistan's energy tariff and labor rate are compared to India, Bangladesh and China, and in this regard, to support the industry and foreign investment. What further steps need to be taken to attract If we focus sector wise only on China with full preparation then Pakistan can easily achieve the export target of 50 billion dollars. Many Chinese companies have also signed MoUs with Pakistani businesses, but there is a need to take this relationship forward on a serious and solid basis. In this regard, the participation of the leaders of all political parties in the meeting held recently on the occasion of the arrival of the high-level official delegation of China to Pakistan and the unconditional support of CPEC and relations with China can be considered as a positive development.
