COMSATS stands in solidarity with member states hit by earthquake

Islamabad: Executive Director of Commission on Science and Technology for Sustainable Development in South (COMSATS) Ambassador Dr. Nafees Zakaria, visited Embassy of Türkiye in Islamabad to sign condolence book in wake of massive earthquake that hit country on February 6, 2023.
Dr. Zakaria expressed deep sorrow with Ambassador of the Republic of Türkiye Mehmet Pacaci on devastating natural calamity that befell Türkiye.
Executive Director said that COMSATS Community firmly stood with brotherly people of Turkiye in this hour of trial.
Ambassador Pacaci thanked Dr. Zakaria and apprised him of situation in aftermath of earthquake that took huge toll on precious lives of tens of thousands across 10 provinces and colossal damage to infrastructure. He said that government had declared national emergency.
Dr. Zakaria assured Ambassador that necessary efforts will be made by COMSATS to provide relief to affected people and assist government in coping with challenge. Turkish Ambassador appreciated Dr. Zakaria’s sentiments.
