Community policing meeting held under Sindh Governor

Karachi: A meeting with Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori in chair discussed community policing in city. Incidents of street crimes in city, complaints related to police stations and other related issues were discussed. 

Murad Ali Soni, Khawaja Jamal Sethi, Sohail Japanwala, Aqeeq Iqbal, Saif Antariya, Zeeshan Jafri, Aman Memon, Amjad Danawala, Mehboob Kapadia and Yasir Khan were present. 

Governor said that all possible measures are being taken to ensure peace and order, in this context, community policing can play an important role in preventing incidents of street crimes. He said that sensitive areas of city. Surveillance cameras are also being installed at locations.

Currently, 6 command and control rooms have been established in city, under which surveillance cameras have been installed in Nazimabad, North Nazimabad, Azizabad and Shahrah Noor Jahan Police Station initially with support of community. Monitoring is being ensured with help of and its scope will gradually be extended to other areas of city. 

Tessori said that he will visit them soon and review their performance. These surveillance cameras are part of plan for a clean, safe and secure area.  He said that cooperation of business community in community policing is commendable. Involvement of entrepreneurs and philanthropists is achieving better results.
