Community Policing Karachi: AIG Odho inaugurates CPK’s Command and Control Room in Defense Police Station

Karachi: Under the umbrella of the Community Policing Karachi (CPK), Additional IG Karachi Javed Alam Odho inaugurated command and control center consisting of 200 CCTV cameras installed in Defense Police Station .

CPK Executive Director Murad Soni, DHA Vigilance Security Director Brigadier Umar Bukhari, DIG South, DIG West, DIG Traffic, District SSPs, team and police officers besides businessmen attended the event. Murad Soni and Brigadier Umar Bukhari gave briefing about the project and appreciated the efforts of police chief in supporting the initiative of community policing.

Karachi PoliceChief while thanking Murad Soni, Brigadier Umar, Saleem Rangeela and other personalities said that command and control room will be helpful in controlling crime with joint cooperation of CPK and the police.

Projects have been launched with help of community to address law and order, security of important facilities, street crime and other problems which are achieving success against street crimes. Number plate reading system is being installed in defense which will help in identifying accused. We are bringing innovation in police and police station culture by involving youth in policing through committees comprising local dignitaries. Further innovation and improvement in traffic system and awareness of traffic rules are being promoted among public. We are taking community policing across Karachi and more cameras will be installed.

Additional IG Karachi distributed certificates to CPK team and personalities who made project successful. CPK and his team presented honorary shields to Karachi Police Chief, DIGs and other police officers.
