Commissioner vows to take stern action if fresh milk sellers violates officially announced price

Karachi: Fresh milk sellers should sell commodity on official price of Rs 180 per litre warned Commissioner Karachi. Afterwards Deputy Commissioner would take legal action against those selling fresh milk other than official price. They would be sent to jail after registration of FIR against them. Commissioner Iqbal Memons clearly added.

Commissioner Task Force has been activated which includes Chairman of Consumer Association of Pakistan Kaukab Iqbal, Chairman of Consumer Rights Council Shakeel Baig and Chairman of Consumer Eye Umar Ghori. Task Force members along with Deputy Commissioner and Assistant Commissioners will check prices in different areas and also check measurements and substandard items.

Kaukab Iqbal asked Commissioner’s Office to determine prices of fresh milk besides quality should also be checked, he added. He said that whenever government set price, fresh milk sellers, retailers and dairy farmers instead of following it, increase 10 to 20 rupees per litre. He appreciated initiative of Commissioner Karachi. Shakeel Baig and Consumer Eye Chairman Umar Ghori also praised initiative of Commissioner. They and said we hope orders of Commissioner will be implemented.
