Commissioner urges youth to follow Iqbal’s philosophy for development of nation

KARACHI: Commissioner Karachi Muhammad Iqbal Memon urged youth to follow philosophy of Dr Allama Muhammad Iqbal to steer nation on path of progress and prosperity. Addressing inaugural ceremony of football series in connection with 145th birth anniversary of Poet of the East Allama Muhammad Iqbal  at Aga Khan Gymkhana he said that entire nation was observing birth anniversary of Allama Iqbal who dreamt for a separate homeland for Muslims of subcontinent and that dream was realised by Qauid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah.

He urged youth to re-align their lives according to philosophy of great poet philosopher to achieve objectives of an educated, civilised and developed nation. He stressed upon sportsperson to play active role for promoting harmony and brotherhood in society and strengthen sports sector in country. He felicitated Pakistan cricket team on making its way to final of ICC T20 world cup by defeating New Zealand in semi-final and hoped that national team would return to homeland as world champion.

A cake cutting ceremony was also held. Allama Iqbal awards were given to Sultan Kemani and Shahida Perveen to recognise their services in field of sports.
