Commissioner Memon, DC Central Taha inaugurate rose-flowers exhibition

Karachi: More than 100 varieties of rose flowers were put on display in an exhibition at District Central. Commissioner Karachi Iqbal Memon inaugurated exhibition along with Deputy Commissioner and Administrator of District Taha Saleem. Number of citizens including officials, media representatives were present.

Iqbal Memon said that according to tradition, fragrance of rose flowers is similar to smell of sweat, that is why they have special devotion to rose flower, which is reason why rose flower is also called king of flowers. He said we should make our country and province in same way and our city should smell like flowers.

Taha Saleem said that district continuously is bringing health and entertainment to people of district at their doorstep. He said that exhibition is third of this year. We previously organised flower exhibition of chrysanthemums and daisies, while to welcome spring, Jashan Baharan Festival has been organised at Abdul Khaliq Afghan Football Stadium Gulberg.

He said that we are using all available resources to improve parks in district while we are moving towards creating mini urban forest at different places in district. Earlier, Commissioner Karachi inspected flower display and got information about flowers from Director Gardens Nadeem Hanif. Taha Saleem presented bouquet to Commissioner on behalf of district. They also visited Jashan Baharan festival.
