Commissioner Karachi honors Ex-cricket selector Iqbal Qasim

KARACHI: Commissioner Karachi Muhammad Iqbal Memon has presented special award to former National Selector and Head of NBP Sports Department Iqbal Qasim, wo is also the former Pakistan record=holding Test cricketer, in recognition of his services to sports with special emphasis on his contribution to holding the first Commissioner Karachi Marathon in Karachi which attracted a record number of Karachiites and was a thumping success.
The first marathon and forth marathon, both were held with the cooperation of NBP sports Department. Iqbal Qasim was instrumental in the first Commissioner Marathon which led to many more marathon later on. It may be mentioned here that Iqbal Qasim was known for his spin bowling and his most notable contribution to Pakistan cricket was his bowling the national team to victory in Bangalore Test against Indian in 1987 I series, which was our country’s first series win on Indian soil.
