Cold waves all set to hit Karachi from tomorrow

KARACHI: Karachi is likely to experience another cold wave from January 12 till 17 with temperature dropping to as low as five degrees Celsius on Thursday. According to forecast issued by early warning centre of Pakistan Meteorological Department, a new cold wave may engulf entire Sindh including Karachi from Thursday which may continue till Tuesday (January 17).
Met department said minimum temperature is expected to range between five to seven degrees in Hyderabad, Tando Allahyar, Tandu Muhammad Khan and Thatta.
Other districts including Larkana, Qamber Shahdadkot, Jacobabad, Jamshoro, Dadu and Tharparkar are likely to experience two to four degrees Celsius temperature. Weather department said mercury in Shaheed Benazirabad, Nowsheroferoz, Khairpur, Sukkur, Ghotki and Sanghar can drop to three to five degrees during cold wave. Weather officials have advised people to take precautionary measures during cold wave. Weather is expected to remain cool and dry in city while fog may occur in morning with strong winds during next 24 hours, Met department added.
