COAS stresses need for latest tech in Pakistan's defense

Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir pledged to prioritize self-reliance and the adoption of the latest technology to bolster Pakistan's defense, as reported by a private news channel quoting the military’s media wing.
During his visit to Pakistan Ordnance Factories (POF) Wah, COAS Munir emphasized the significance of indigenous industries like POF Wah in defining the path to national progress.
The COAS was briefed on POF's production capabilities, its contributions to meeting defense requirements, and its export potential. He also observed a variety of POF products, including newly designed and locally manufactured weapons and ammunition undergoing testing.
Addressing POF officers and staff, COAS Munir commended their contributions to the country's security and economy, positioning POF as a key defense industry in Pakistan. He reiterated the commitment to working towards self-reliance and integrating the latest technology to enhance Pakistan's defense capabilities.
On January 12, COAS General Asim Munir highlighted the ongoing modernization efforts within the Armed Forces of Pakistan to meet the country's evolving needs and respond effectively to potential threats. During Exercise Al-Bayza-III at Sonmiani, COAS Munir witnessed the firing of various air defense weapon systems, including High to Medium Air Defense Weapons System (HIMADS), emphasizing the continued efforts to enhance Pakistan's air defense capabilities.
