Tashkent: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir called on President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, Defence Minister and Chairman and Secretary of State Security Service of Uzbekistan, military said in statement.

Meeting was held during Army Chief’s two-day official visit to Republic of Uzbekistan. Visit is aimed at enhancing military-to-military cooperation and defence collaboration.

According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), COAS emphasised upon enhancing mutual training cooperation and intelligence sharing during meetings.

General Munir appreciated standard of training and readiness of Uzbekistan military forces and their understanding about regional security issues.

On arrival at Ministry of Defence, Army Chief was given warm welcome and was presented guard of honour by smartly turned-out contingent. COAS also laid floral wreath at Memorial Complex of Martyrs in Tashkent.
