ISLAMABAD: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir called on Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. During meeting, overall security situation of region was discussed while professional matters of Pakistan Army also came under consideration.

Earlier, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC) Gen Sahir Shamshad Mirza called on Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. CJCSC and premier exchanged views on overall security situation in country and professional matters of Pakistan’s armed forces during meeting at Prime Minister’s House. Gen Sahir, who was promoted to rank in November last had earlier held meeting with prime minister following his promotion. Premier had congratulated Gen Sahir on assuming responsibilities of Chairman of Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee. He had also appreciated professional capability and performance of Gen Mirza.
