COAS, Malaysian PM discuss defence collaboration

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan's Army Chief General Syed Asim Munir met with Malaysian Prime Minister Dato' Seri Anwar Ibrahim to discuss bilateral strategic interests, regional security and defence cooperation.
Meeting underscored importance of enhancing military ties between two nations. According to ISPR, Malaysian Prime Minister lauded Pakistan's armed forces for their contributions to regional peace and stability.
He particularly acknowledged Pakistan Army's professionalism and sacrifices in fight against terrorism, emphasising need for stronger military collaboration between two countries.
Malaysian Prime Minister extended an invitation to General Asim Munir to visit Malaysia, to which Army Chief expressed gratitude.
Visit is expected to further strengthen long-standing ties between two brotherly nations. Malaysian Prime Minister Dato' Seri Anwar Ibrahim acknowledged strong business interest from his country in Pakistan, noting that over 30 delegations from Malaysia attended event.
He highlighted upcoming opening of Malaysian trade office in Karachi as concrete step toward enhancing trade and investment relations.
