COAS Bajwa, USG DPO discuss matters of mutual interest

Islamabad: Jean Pierre Lacroix, United Nations (UN) Under Secretary General Department of Peacekeeping Operations (USG DPO) called on General Qamar Javed Bajwa, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) at GHQ.

During meeting, matters of mutual interests and overall regional security situation were discussed. COAS appreciated role of office of Under Secretary in promoting UN core values and their response during crises.

UN dignitary acknowledged Pakistan’s contribution in UN peacekeeping Missions and extraordinary achievements in counter terrorism. UN Under-Secretary also expressed his grief over devastation caused by floods in Pakistan due to climate change and offered sincere condolence to families of victims.
