COAS Asim Munir, Saudi Defence Minister discuss military cooperation

RAWALPINDI: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir and Minister of Defence Saudi Arabia Khalid bin Salman Al Saud met in Riyadh and discussed about enhancing military and defence cooperation between two countries. According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Army Chief General Syed Asim Munir is on an official visit to Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) and United Arab Emirates (UAE) from January 4 to 10. Saudi Arabia Minister of Defence congratulated General Asim Munir on his appointment as new Chief of Staff of Pakistani Army.

During meeting, they emphasised strength and durability of bilateral relations between two countries and discussed military and defence cooperation and ways to support and enhance them, in addition to discussing most important regional and international issues of common interest. According to military media wing, Pakistani Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Ameer Khurram Rathore, Chief of Staff Major General Muhammad Irfan and Military Attache Brigadier Muhammad Asim, Chief of General Staff of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Lieutenant-General Fayyadh bin Hamed Al-Ruwaili and other senior officials were present in meeting.

During first official visit to KSA and UAE COAS will be meeting senior leadership of both brotherly countries to discuss matters of mutual interest, military to military cooperation and bilateral relations focusing on security related subjects.
