Quetta: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Asim Munir said that those who are making futile efforts to drive wedge and weaken unbreakable bond between people of Pakistan and its Armed Forces will never be able to succeed, military said in statement Army Chief expressed these remarks during visit to Quetta Garrison where he addressed officers of Command and Staff College Quetta, according to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
While addressing officers, COAS emphasised upon operational preparedness for conventional, sub-conventional and fifth-generation warfare.
“Those who are making futile efforts to drive wedge and weaken unbreakable bond between people of Pakistan and its Armed Forces will never be able to succeed Insha Allah,” Army Chief was quoted as saying by military’s media wing. General Asim said that Armed Forces of Pakistan remain perpetually indebted to valiant and proud people of Pakistan who, through recent manifestation of their unique love for their armed forces across length and breadth of country, have given befitting reply to nefarious designs of enemy and their collaborators.
COAS further stated that nexus between internal collusive elements and external forces to create instability has amply been exposed to people of Pakistan. “Pak Army, being one of strongest armies of world with blessings of Allah and undaunted support of proud people of Pakistan can neither be deterred nor coerced by anyone, Alhamdolillah,” he added. Army Chief also visited various welfare schemes for soldiers in Quetta Garrison. He was earlier received by Commander Quetta Corps.
Last week, General Munir said that whatever happened May 9 day when violent protests gripped country after Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan was very sad and condemnable. His comments came during his visit to Police Lines Headquarters in Islamabad on May 25 on Youm-e-Takreem Shuhada-e-Pakistan (Martyrs Reverence Day) to remember and pay rich tribute to martyrs who laid their lives while defending motherland and its people. "Such behaviour will not be tolerated," said Army Chief, adding that nation will not forgive or forget those who desecrated memorials of martyrs and undermined their dignity.
