Coach falls into ravine, kills 41 in Balochistan’s Lasbela

LASBELA: At least 41 were killed with more casualties feared as passenger coach fell into ravine in Balochistan's Lasbela area. According to media reports, nearly 48 passengers were onboard and coach was travelling to Karachi from Quetta. "Due to speeding, coach crashed into pillar of bridge while taking U-turn near Lasbela. Vehicle subsequently careened into ravine and then caught fire," Lasbela Assistant Commissioner Hamza Anjum was quoted as saying by media.
Media report claimed that three people, including child and woman have been rescued alive and moved to Civil Hospital, Lasbela. Another media report claimed its Edhi sources as revealing that fire broke out in passenger bus after it met with an accident due to which it was difficult to evacuate passengers. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed 'deep sorrow' and grief over loss of precious lives in bus accident, state media reported. In statement, PM condoled with bereaved families and prayed for high ranks of departed souls. He prayed for early recovery of injured ones. Prime Minister directed authorities concerned to provide best medical facilities to injured.
"Deeply grieved by unfortunate incident in Lasbela which engulfed many lives," said Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah in Tweet. "My heartfelt condolences go out to bereaved families, may Allah provide them with courage to endure this loss and bless souls of deceased. Ameen," he wrote. According to state media, Chief Minister Balochistan Mir Abdul Quddus Bizenjo expressed deep grief and sorrow over loss of precious lives in road accident this morning. In his condolence statement, he directed district administration to provide better health facilities to injured passengers.
