CM’s Special Assistant on Commerce seeks FPCCI's proposals

Karachi: Irfan Iqbal Sheikh President FPCCI welcoming visit of Faraz Abid Lakhani Special Assistant to Chief Minister Sindh on Commerce to Federation House to seek proposals and recommendations of apex body appreciated his gesture.

Abid extended full support for development of province, highlighting infrastructural upkeep and development, law and order, burgeoning cost of doing business, abysmal investor confidence and bad state of ease of doing business indicators.

Suleman Chawla SVP FPCCI said no substantial industrial plot is available for less than tens of millions of rupees in Karachi whereas, other countries are offering industrial plots for free to investors. 

Mian Nasser Hyatt Maggo immediate past President FPCCI reiterated that businessmen are constantly harassed by land grabbers and number of industrial properties owned by FPCCI members have been encroached and illegally-possessed by outlaws.

M. A. Jabbar VP FPCCI said successive provincial governments have failed business community and masses alike due to lackluster performance on commerce and labour policies. Bureaucracy should do more than presentations and strategise for their actual implementation.

Faraz Abid Lakhani and his team gave detailed answers to FPCCI office bearers and members. CM Sindh and provincial government is crystal clear that new commerce policy of Sindh 2023-27 will not be announced without taking on board business community.

He added government is having technical assistance of USAID in this regard and sectorial action plans will also be incorporated in policy to make is effective and inclusive.
