KARACHI: Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah establishing friendly and cooperative working relationship with federal government, regardless of political party in power is important for addressing issues faced by people of province. President Asif Ali Zardari has taught us that to serve people of province. Talking to media he mentioned that Grand Democratic Alliance had not put forward its candidates in all constituencies.  He said it was surprising that GDA was claiming that they had been forcibly defeated despite these circumstances.

To question, he said that law and order has improved in province with induction of elected government. “We are taking necessary measures to control law and order in province by curbing kidnapping for ransom in riverine area and street crime in Karachi.” Murad Shah on question said country is currently going through critical phase and he believes that new Finance Minister would be vital in steering country out of its financial crisis. To question, he mentioned that he held portfolio of University and Boards and was looking into matter of chairman Board of Intermediate Karachi. CM said that he would resolve issue in interests of educational board.

Talking about appointment of chairman IRSA, he said that IRSA came into being through 1991 Water Accord. Purpose was to create an autonomous authority so that federal government could not influence its decisions.  He said that IRSA was five-member body, each province has one member and one from federal government. CM said that he was trying to contact Prime Minister to discuss matter and hopefully it would be resolved.
