CM Murad urges parents to cooperate with polio teams to save children

KARACHI: Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah urged parents to cooperate with polio teams which will knock at their doors to administer polio drops to children, below 5 so that they could be saved from crippling disease.
In a message to parents just after inaugurating week-long polio drive here CM said he was happy to announce that during last two years, no new case of polio has emerged in Sindh, but polio is yet to be eradicated from Pakistan. “We, with support of parents and with efforts of health department and Emergency Operation Centre for Eradication of Polio and door-to-door campaign by polio workers have succeeded in controlling polio but it is yet to be eradicated from country,” he said.
He urged parents to cooperate with teams visiting them to administer polio vaccine to their children. Minister Health Dr. Azra Pechuho, Chief Secretary Sohail Rajput, Adl IG Karachi Javed Odho, Secretary Health Zulfiqar Shah, Coordinator EOC Fayaz Abbasi and others were present. EOC of health department has launched week-long October 24 to 30 anti-polio drive in 21 districts and partially in flood-affected districts of Jamshoro, Shaheed Benazirabad and Kambar.
