‘CM Murad to inaugurate IAS conference’

KARACHI: International Centre for Chemical and Biological Sciences (ICCBS) Karachi University will host 24th Conference of Islamic World Academy of Sciences (IAS) on ‘Challenges to Promote Science and Technology for Socio-Economic Development in OIC Countries’ during March 7 to 8, 2023 on its campus.
Chief Minister of Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah will inaugurate IAS conference. Spokesman of ICCBS University said that conference was being held in collaboration with Islamic World Academy of Sciences, Organisation of Islamic Cooperation Ministerial Standing Committee on Scientific and Technological Cooperation and ICCBS KU. Islamic World Academy of Sciences was established by COMSTECH for promotion of science and technology in Islamic World.
Prof. Dr. M. Iqbal Choudhary, Director of International Center for Chemical and Biological Sciences and COMSTECH Coordinator-General said that this is really an honour for ICCBS, University of Karachi to host and organise such meaningful event of IAS on its campus.
According to spokesman, inaugural ceremony of conference will be held on March 7 in Prof. Salimuzzaman Siddiqui Auditorium, ICCBS, where Chief Minister of Murad Ali Shah will deliver inaugural address. However, inaugural ceremony will also be addressed by Vice Chancellor KU Prof. Dr. Khalid Mehmood Iraqi, Prince El-Hassan bin Talal, Founding Patron of IAS, Jordan, Prof. Atta-ur-Rahman, ICCBS Patron-in-Chief and former Minister for Science and Technology, Prof. Dr. M. Iqbal Choudhary, Director of the ICCBS and COMSTECH Coordinator-General Prof. Adnan Badran, IAS President, Jordan, Aziz Latif Jamal, Chairman Husein Ebrahim Jamal Foundation, and Nadira Panjwani, Chairperson Dr. Panjwani Memorial Trust.
Message of President Dr Arif Alvi will also be read out during ceremony. Eminent scientists from various countries of Islamic World will be attending conference.
