KARACHI: Sixth Sindh Literature Festival was inaugurated at Arts Council Karachi. Arts Council and Sindh Literary Foundation organised event. Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah declared open event. President Arts Council Ahmad Shah, Sindh Minister for Culture and Education Syed Sardar Ali Shah, Noor ul Huda Shah, Mushahid Hussain Syed, Faqir uddin Ejaz Shah, Shams ul Haq Memon, Saleem Safi and Ejaz Turk participated.

Murad Ali Shah said that literary programmes increase respect of humanity, He said that research, literature, music and reasoning are weapons of any society by which society moves forward. We have to save nature and its basis, we have to make new curriculum about trees, water and animals, he added.

Fifty percent of society’s population-women, mothers, sisters and all are imprisoned in their homes, let’s find opportunities for them together and women of Sindh.

Sardar Shah said that some forces try to stop such festival, they will respond to blasts with bang, message of Sindh is love and peace. There is difference of opinion. People from different provinces have come to festival who have brought message of love.

Extremism in subcontinent has been fought by cultural institutions, writers and poor, when explosion occurred at Lal Shahbaz Qalandar.

Ahmad Shah said that we left Sindh and went to Lahore to promote our culture. Lahore welcomed us with open arms. Sidnh always leads Pakistan.

Under leadership of Murad Ali Shah we went to Gilgit too. We will put an end to hatred, we will have to bind all people living in Pakistan in chain.

Shams ul Haq Memon said that under plate form of Sindh Endowment Fund thirty books from British period were republished, climate change is theme of festival this time.

Mushahid Hussain Syed said that Sindh Literature Festival connects people together. Resistance has started from Sindh. Well-known writer Noor ul Huda Shah said that we have discussed census with Chief Minister. I talked about Sindh, Arts Council and Sindh in world.

Naseer Memon said that six to seven months ago we have gone through worst tragedy, after flood two million more people became poor in Sindh. Naseer Gopang said that friends are opposing for no reason, we can learn from literary fairs.

Faqir Ejaz uddin said that I wish to speak in Sindhi, languages should be handed over to provinces after 18th Amendment. MD Sindh Education Foundation Qazi Kabir said that Sindh Education Foundation is educating nine lakh children, our children are studying in other provinces, our old writers were connected with educational institutions.
