CM Murad launches book `Story of Indus Civilisation’ at Sindh Archives

Karachi: Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah said that book` Story of Indus Civilisation’ is literary continuation that encapsulates culture and heritage of province and is aimed at preserving and promoting diverse culture, heritage, history and traditions that make Sindh bastion of plural society.

  Speaking at inauguration ceremony of `Story of Indus Civilisation’ printed and published by Sindh Archive’s Department at Archives auditorium CM said that this publishing of book was an attempt to fill scholarly void of what was cradle of civilisation. 

It aims at contributing to more intelligent and meaningful discussion on origins of modern man who started setting up communities and flourished along enriched River Indus. Sindh Archives is treasure of literature. I visited Archives some 20 years ago and had spent half of day reading old and rare books,  Sindh Minister of Culture Syed Sardar Shah said that Civilisation of Indus started right from area it emanated from and covered various countries on way and it terminated into Arabian Sea.  Language of entire civilisation has assimilation which could be traced through research, he said.

 He added other provinces have not organised such literary sessions on Harpa, Taxila and such other civilisations. CM Special Assistant Tariq Hassan thanked CM for his participation.
