CM Murad directs Commissioner to keep an eye on edible prices

Karachi: Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah said that price management committee should be formed to control inflation in blessed month of Ramadhan and to control prices, sanitation, traffic management and law and order situation. He gave such instructions after report submitted by Commissioner Karachi.
On instructions of Chief Minister, regarding control of prices in Ramadhan, report of actions taken by Commissioner Karachi Salim Rajput against illegal profiteers during last four days. Karachi Division Price investigation has been started in all seven districts and fines have been imposed on profiteers. On other hand, on instructions of Chief Minister, in meeting with Commissioner Karachi, he said that first of all, demand for fruits, vegetables and vegetables should be met in city. Exporters assured Sindh government that needs of local people would be met first and then products would be exported. Chief Minister directed all commissioners of province to form price management committee to control inflation in blessed month of Ramadhan. Murad Ali Shah further said that price control, cleanliness, traffic management and law and order should be kept peaceful in Ramadhan.
Meanwhile, Commissioner Karachi fined as many as 137 profiteers in city in crackdown launched ahead of Ramadhan. As per details, crackdown was carried out in Karachi’s east, west, south, Malir, Keamari and Korangi districts.
During action, Commissioner fined 137 profiteers Rs 800,000. Saleem Rajput vowed to continue crackdown against profiteers and warned shopkeepers to sell commodities at government fixed rate.
