CM Maryam orders activation of water filtration plants

LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz issued instructions for immediate reactivation of all dormant and damaged water filtration plants in province, stressing need for comprehensive strategy to ensure access to clean drinking water in every area.
Directive came during meeting chaired by her regarding Aab Pak Authority, where officials presented report detailing status of 5,027 water filtration plants installed across Punjab. Maryam emphasised urgency of situation, ordering swift reactivation of inactive and damaged reverse osmosis plants province-wide.
Additionally, she directed authorities to prioritise installation of new water filtration facilities in regions grappling with brackish water. In meeting, she urged relevant authorities to mobilise all available resources to guarantee clean drinking water for citizens.
It was also decided, in principle, to centralize management of all water filtration plants under single administrative authority. Gathering, attended by Senator Pervez Rasheed, provincial Minister Maryam Aurangzeb and other dignitaries, underscored government’s commitment to addressing water quality issues and ensuring widespread access to clean drinking water across Punjab.
