LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz met with Turkiye’s Consul General, Durmus Bastug, to discuss strengthening collaboration between the two countries in various sectors, including trade, education, health, agriculture, and tourism.
The meeting aimed at fostering mutual ties and enhancing cooperation in key areas of mutual interest. During the meeting, CM Maryam Nawaz expressed her admiration for Turkiye, referring to it as a “great friend” and a “brotherly nation.” She extended her gratitude for Turkiye’s steadfast support during challenging times and emphasized the importance of furthering bilateral relations. The Chief Minister assured that her government would work to create a more conducive environment for Turkish investors, with a special focus on improving the one-window operation for Turkiye’s business community in Punjab. This initiative aims to streamline business operations and make it easier for Turkish companies to invest in the region. Consul General Durmus Bastug acknowledged the welfare initiatives led by Maryam Nawaz and expressed his appreciation for the efforts made to enhance the well-being of the people of Punjab. He reiterated Turkiye’s commitment to deepening cooperation with the province in various fields, highlighting the mutual benefits of such partnerships.
