CM Gandapur launches helicopter service to support Kurram

PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur has launched a helicopter service to assist in managing the growing tensions in the Kurram region.
According to government officials, an MI-17 helicopter made two flights from Peshawar to Kurram, transferring 53 people, including 14 patients, from Parachinar to Peshawar. On the following day, the first flight transported 16 individuals, including jirga members and government officials, to Parachinar. The second flight moved 27 people from Parachinar to Thall, and the third flight was scheduled to bring stranded people from Thall back to Parachinar. A total of five flights are planned for the day, with over 100 people set to be relocated. In addition to the evacuation efforts, the chief minister ordered the transportation of essential medicines by helicopter to address urgent medical needs.
On the previous day, 1,850 kilograms of medicines worth Rs12 million were delivered to Parachinar. To date, over Rs60 million worth of medical supplies have been transported via helicopter. CM Gandapur reaffirmed his commitment to alleviating the hardships faced by the people of Kurram, ensuring that every available resource is being utilized to bring relief to the region and to restore peace.
