LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader Fawad Chaudhry said Punjab Chief Minister Parvez Elahi would go for vote of confidence before January 11. In a press conference, Fawad while launching tirade against ruling Pakistan Democratic Movement said that incumbent rulers’ incompetence has put Pakistan on verge of default, adding that after “Regime change” operation, overwhelming support from masses for PTI Chief Imran Khan put them in an unknown fear. “Institutions should play their role for snap elections,” urged PTI leader.

Earlier, PTI leader Fawad Chaudhry said his party was going to issue white paper on country’s economic situation. Chaudhry said in connection with this decision, PTI Chairman Imran Khan summoned meeting of economic experts, adding that in meeting, country’s economic situation will be discussed in detail.

He added white paper will be issued by PTI based on proposals of economic experts. Mr Chaudhry went on to say PTI had formed working groups for basic reforms, which will prepare proposals on country’s economy and governance.

“PTI believed that after getting rid of current rulers, country could not get out of quagmire without major reforms”, he added. Meanwhile, Punjab Assembly cannot be dissolved before January 11, legal experts told PTI Chairman Imran Khan. Imran Khan was briefed by his legal team on dissolution of Punjab Assembly in light of Lahore High Court verdict.

Legal experts informed Imran Khan that Punjab Assembly cannot be dissolved before January 11 as matter has been conditionally attached to court’s verdict.

Imran Khan was also informed that legal status of no-confidence motion also ended after Speaker Sibtain’s ruling.

Legal experts were of opinion that Punjab Governor Balighur Rehman has to ask CM Pervaiz Elahi again to take vote of confidence from House.
