CM directs reservation of separate room for treatment of transgenders

PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur directed to reserve separate room for transgender community in District Headquarter Hospitals of province. Decision was taken during meeting between Governor Haji Ghulam Ali and Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur. Mayor Peshawar, Haji Zubair Ali was also present in meeting.
During meeting, Governor Haji Ghulam Ali and KP CM discussed different problems faced by trans community of province and several decisions were taken. Chief Minister Ali Amin issued instructions to Health Department for reservation of separate room for transgender for provision of treatment facilities to them at District Headquarters Hospitals.
Chief Minister also agreed over provision of land for separate graveyard for transgender community. Meanwhile, local court cancelled arrest warrants of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur in case about protests and vandalising public property. Judicial Magistrate Naveed Khan issued order and adjourned hearing of case against Gandapur till May 20. Earlier, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur approached District and Sessions Court of Islamabad to cancel non-bailable arrest warrant in long march and vandalism case.
Petition has stated that Ali Amin Gandapur never deliberately avoided appearance in court. It has been stated in application that Ali Amin Gandapur could not appear in court due to his election engagements and he apologises unconditionally for disobeying court orders. Petition has requested that ongoing non-bailable arrest warrant of Ali Amin Gandapur be cancelled.
