ISLAMABAD: Minister for Climate Change Senator Sherry Rehman said Chief Minister who did not have majority in House could not dissolve constituent Assembly.
In a series of tweets, she said Assembly could only be dissolved by Speaker who had confidence of House. She said due to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf, Punjab was suffering from administrative and constitutional crisis for past four and half years.
He said PTI had created political and constitutional crisis one after another in Pakistan’s largest province. “Now Speaker is not ready to take vote of confidence. He has given ruling to stop session called by Governor,” she said. She underlined that halting process of convening session on advice of Governor was violation of rules and regulations of Assembly and Article 109 of Constitution.
Escaping constitutional process has become PTI’s strategy, she said, adding, “If Speaker has confidence of House, why not call session? What is purpose of using delay tactics?” She queried, “If Imran Khan has majority in Punjab Assembly, take vote of confidence from Speaker. What are you afraid of?”
