KARACHI: Special Assistant to Chief Minister Sindh for Food Abdul Jabbar Khan paid a surprise visit to the wheat warehouses of Landhi and Papri.

Abdul Jabbar Khan, expressing his dismay at the lack of repairs, maintenance and cleaning, said that the services of reputable officers will be sought for the check and balance of warehouses.  According to Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s vision, the Food Department will be made a corruption-free institution. Taking notice of the Qamber Shahdad Kot incident, Abdul Jabbar Khan said that against officials and their facilitators involved in serious crimes like wheat theft and corruption. An immediate FIR will be registered and action will be taken as per law Abdul Jabbar Khan said that a committee has been established to investigate the theft of wheat.  On this occasion, Director Food Sindh Muhammad Hussain Baloch, Deputy Director Saeedullah Narejo and other officers briefed the Special Assistant on wheat storage and fumigation. Fumigation is done three times a year Abdul Jabbar Khan, Special Assistant to the Chief Minister of Sindh, made a detailed inspection of the godowns and checked them himself.  Abdul Jabbar Khan also directed to make use of vacant land at Landhi godown and prepare PC1 for establish   more godowns He said that with this there will be no need to rent a warehouse in future.
