CJP orders EOBI to decide dispute about properties within 6 weeks

ISLAMABAD: Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Umar Ata Bandial has ordered EOBI to decide dispute related to properties within 6 weeks. CJP maintained “Return money to whom this has to be returned otherwise property be handed over to them.”

CJP further observed EOBI will have to find out solution to this problem. Property prices will have reached at present to what higher level as compared to 10 years. Those are also Pakistanis whose millions of rupees are trapped. Court remains dissatisfied in matter of money. He remarked EOBI is larger institution. Make it stand on its feet.

EOBI corruption case came up for hearing before 3-member bench of SC presided over by CJP Umar Ata Bandial.

Counsel Makhdoom Ali Khan took plea before court 10 years have passed and affectees are still engaged in court. EOBI could take no decision about properties in 10 years. Properties are with EOBI and money is deposited in SC. EOBI authorities sought time from SC to resolve matter.

CJP while accepting this plea remarked it is hoped EOBI will make decision honestly. Court while directing EOBI to file report after deciding dispute regarding properties within 6 weeks adjourned hearing of case till August.
