KARACHI: Maham Amjad daughter of deceased Muhammad Ahmed Amjad Regional Head who was killed by another employee of State Life Insurance Corporation (SLIC) in his office has appealed Chief Justice of Supreme Court of Pakistan Umar Ata Bandial to take suo moto action under Article 184(3) of Constitution. In her appeal to CJP February 11, 2023, Maham requested Court to help her find justice for her father as bringing accused back to Pakistan through Interpol is in process.

Departmental inquiry is very important for applicant at this stage and any delay in completing it can make or break her stance of justice. She requested to take notice of her case and take suo moto action against State Life Insurance Corporation as well as have panel of neutrals sit in State Life to investigate/ enquire about her father’s murder. Her father was brutally murdered in state life insurance office on August 26, 2008 at his seat by another employee who was much junior to him.

He shot 10 bullets at Muhammad Ahmed Amjad and was aided in fleeing country by State Life Insurance. Prior to murder Amjad was documenting and bringing on record that murderer was threatening applicant’s father, bringing firearms to office and even attempting to kill him one month before event of murder. Even with trail of letters, murderer was not fired being only sales manager who was not even permanent employee.

Entire crime scene was fabricated and no evidence was provided to police. Letter trail he left behind was hidden from police and court and applicant as family of deceased was lied to that name of murderer was placed on Exit Control List. State Life issued public statement saying same. Murderer fled from Pakistan to Dubai two months after murder and his name was placed on ECL by applicant’s efforts.

Murderer’s family being his son, daughter and wife to date are working at State Life Insurance, however, murderer was never blacklisted from entering state life offices even after said murder and to date they have been selling state life policies.

Police were paid to hide police file of murder as well as paper trail applicant’s father left behind in state life. Original documents are all missing. Applicant was 15 years old and too young to be able to fight the case at time of murder. Ever since applicant reopened her father’s case murderer made very public video threatening to kill her after which he was arrested in Dubai and currently has travel ban on him. Applicant is bringing him back to Pakistan through help of Interpol, Maham Amjad added while talking to Daily National Courier.
