RAWALPINDI: Special court has adjourned hearing of cipher case for one day. Lawyers have requested court to adjourn hearing for one day due to non-availability of Ali Bokhari counsel for Shah Mehmood Qureshi.

Counsels for PTI founder and Shah Mehmood Qureshi filed two petitions to obtain verified copies. Counsels for PTI founder requested court to hold hearing according to rules 10 and 10-A.

Defence counsels filed plea for recording statements of witnesses again in presence of lawyers. Lawyers of PTI founder and Shah Mehmood Qurshis filed 6 miscellaneous petitions. No witness could be cross questioned during Tuesday hearing.

Later FIA prosecutor Zulfiqar Abbas Naqvi and Shah Khawar while talking to media men outside Adiala Jail said defence counsels were to cross examine witnesses but they filed 6 petitions. Defence counsels wanted to get record statements of some witnesses again. But law is very clear. One application was with refernce to winter vacations. Accused and defence counsels have raised objection on media.

Shah Khawar said it is law if an accused who is on bail tries to change evidence and impede trial then prosecution has right to file plea for cancellation of bail of accused. Defence counsels were made to read court’s orders wherein it was said that public and media can be sent out in sensitive matter.
