Chinese Charge d’Affaires, Ishaq Dar discuss economic ties

ISLAMABAD: Chinese Charge d’Affaires Pang Chunxue called on Finance Minister Ishaq Dar here and discussed bilateral relations between all-weather and time-tested friends, China and Pakistan.

Highlighting deep-rooted historical bilateral relations between two countries, Ishaq Dar commended Chinese support for Pakistan and underscored need for further deepening existing ties in economic and trade as well as financial sectors.

Extended Eid greetings to the people of Pakistan and Finance Minister, Pang Chunxue praised close and shared friendly relations between two countries. She assured Finance Minister of continuous support of Chinese government to people of Pakistan. Two sides discussed bilateral relations between two countries and avenues to enhance existing cooperation in multiple fields. Finance Minister Ishaq Dar appreciated Charge d’ Affaires Pang Chunxue for all support and cooperation which Pakistan had been receiving from leadership of China.

Meanwhile, Ishaq Dar expressed satisfaction over revenue targets of FBR for financial year 2022-23 and its performance.

Meeting with reference to revenue performance of FBR was held in Finance Division. It was attended by SAPM on finance Tariq Bajwa, SAPM on Revenue Tariq Mehmood Pasha, Chairman FBR and senior officers of Finance Division and FBR.

Chairman FBR Asim Ahmed gave detailed briefing on FBR revenue targets for period from July 2022 to March 2023 and its performance. He asserted that FBR will make every possible effort to achieve its targets for remaining period of financial year 2022-23.

Dar expressed his satisfaction over it and appreciated performance of revenue time for its performance. Ishaq Dar extended his full support to FBR in performance of its duties for revenue collection. FM urged FBR team to step up its efforts to achieve real tax potential of country.
