Karachi: Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah in a meeting with Chinese Consul General Li Bijian said that important people from private sector were included in company established for construction of houses collapsed in heavy rains. Transparency should be ensured.

He said that funds collected from lending agencies for construction of houses for flood victims will be used in a transparent manner and their audit will be done by a reputed firm. Murad Ali Shah and Sindi Warren invited international community, close friendly countries and multinational companies to come and select an area/neighbourhood or village to build their demolished houses and hire their contractors or construction companies and provincial government.

They will provide all kinds of help. Chief Minister said that 3.8 million houses have been destroyed to heavy rains and floods. Government of Sindh has talked about a loan of 500 million dollars for reconstruction of houses, but number of houses is so much that more support is needed to build houses for all displaced people.

Chinese Consul General told Chief Minister that his team of experts will visit flood areas of Sukkur Division, survey destroyed houses and select areas for construction of houses.  Consul General presented a cheque of 100,000 Yuan to Karachi and 500,000 Yuan to CM Fund for flood victims. Chief Minister thanked Consul General, Chinese government and people.
