Chairman Senate, Aga Khan Fund-HBL discuss floods, relief work

Islamabad: Chairman Senate Sadiq Sanjrani met with Sultan Ali Allana Chairman of Habib Bank Limited and Director of Aga Khan Fund for Economic Development at Parliament House. They discussed damage caused by recent rains and flood. Role of social organisations in accelerating rehabilitation process was discussed.

Chairman Senate thanked Aga Khan and his organisation for announcing ten million dollars in aid for flood victims. Director of the fund said that five million dollars will be given to relief fund of government of Pakistan, while five million dollars will be spent on relief and rehabilitation works through Aga Khan Development Network. Chairman Senate was informed that Habib Bank Limited has also taken appropriate steps to provide relief to flood affectees of Balochistan for public welfare under corporate social responsibility.

Chairman Senate appreciated efforts of Aga Khan Development Network for health, education and rural development in Pakistan. He appealed to philanthropists and welfare organisations to make full efforts to help flood affectees so that rehabilitation works can be fast tracked.  Please make arrangements to provide food and basic health facilities to flood affectees. Distressed people are waiting for all kinds of assistance.
