Chairman PCB presents ICC Awards to Babar Azam

LAHORE: The chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) management committee Najam Sethi yesterday presented the ICC Men’s ODI Cricketer and Sir Garfield Sobers ICC Men’s Cricketer of the Year awards to Babar Azam. Babar, who headlined the ICC Awards 2022, has now received the two coveted trophies from the PCB management committee chair and ICC Director Sethi at Gaddafi Stadium here.

Taking to Twitter, the PCB shared pictures of Sethi presenting the all-format captain Babar with the prestigious silverware. “PCB [management committee] Chairman and ICC Director Mr Najam Sethi presents Sir Garfield Sobers Trophy for ICC Men’s Cricketer of the Year and ICC Men’s ODI Cricketer of the Year award to Pakistan captain Babar Azam,” wrote PCB. It is apropos to mention that Pakistan cricketers ruled the ICC Awards for the second consecutive year.

Babar bagged the ODI Cricketer of the Year award for the second consecutive year while also becoming only the second cricketer to feature in ICC Teams of the Year across all formats after India’s Virat Kohli.
